Miley's Story...
My name is Miley. I am a spayed, female Dachshund / Jack Russell Terrier mix, about 3-4 years old, that came to Tall Tails Beagle Rescue from the Paris Animal Welfare Society in Paris, KY. I am a shy girl but get along well with other dogs and, once I get to know you, just love my people. I have some medical conditions. including allergies to shots & have exhibited seizures, so I am listed as a Special Needs girl. I will make someone an exceptional and loyal friend. Please give me a new loving home.
Here is what the people at the PAWS Shelter had to say about me:
"Meet Miley! She is about 2 to 3 yrs old (as of 3/11) and is a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is super cute, has a tail and weighs about 12 lbs. Her person moved away and left her behind a very sad situation. The neighbor discovered this and brought her to us. She was quite frightened and intimidated at the shelter. We have moved her to a foster home and she has made great progress. She is very affectionate and loves to give you gentle kisses. She feels more confident around women than men, but has shown she is building trust with her foster Dad. She gets along well with the other dogs her size in her foster home. She does like to chase the cats, but has not tried to hurt any of them. She thinks it is a fun game. She is an athletic and playful dog. She is lots of fun and loves to run. Her favorite game is tug of war with a pull toy. She may be shy and timid when she is first in a home, and will need time to adjust and build her confidence and trust. Once that happens, she becomes a loyal friend for you. She has no issues with food and nicely takes treats. Since she is shy, we think she will feel more comfortable in a home with no young kids. Miley is hoping there is someone who will open their heart to her and be patient about allowing her to feel comfortable. Then she will reward you with lots of devotion and loyalty."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Miley, a Freeport Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Freeport, or seeking a Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
