Afton's Story...
Afton is a young adult neutered 48 lb German Shepherd/Chow mix who is a joy to be round. He is always happy! He has the shepherd intelligence and coat, and the chow big fluffy head. He gets along great with other dogs but is a little too interested in cats, so would do best in a home without them. Afton has NO issues with aggression! He is WONDERFUL at the dog park. He is great on the leash and a fabulous jogging buddy. He is crate trained and is house trained. He loves cuddling and sleeping in bed with his people. He is so funny because he likes throwing his toys up in the air and catching them. Afton is easily entertained :) He is being fostered in Spring Grove, PA. Please fill out an application if you would like to meet Afton.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Afton, a Hanover Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow for sale in Hanover, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Hanover.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hanover already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hanover breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hanover paves the way for another one to be saved.
