Winston's Story...
AZ Chihuahua Rescue saved this little guy, who was found in the desert heat in the month of August. Winston is around 3 ½ pounds, playful, potty trained, crate trained, friendly with dogs and kids. He will get attached to his owner and develop trust, but needs patient adopter until he gets to that point. Female adopters would work better for Winston. He is learning how to socialize without being too fearful. He stills growls at my husband and tends to run away rather than let me pick him up, but once picked up, he will cuddle and do just fine. I think he is an awesome dog and will fit great with the adopter who understands special needs and Chihuahuas. If you are that person and you are interested, please email Debbie ( for information on how to adopt Winston or visit

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Winston, a Mesa Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Mesa, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Mesa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mesa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mesa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mesa paves the way for another one to be saved.
