Ricky's Story...
This adolescent kitten and his girlfriend (most likely his sister) were in the same cage at Chicago Animal Control, clearly bonded and also very friendly, so we thought we'd give them another chance to luck out with a responsible, loving adopter. We think Ricky is 8-9 months old - he's an adorable and friendly can see him here deciding if he should come out of the carrier at our vet's office. We'd love to see him adopted into the same home with with his friend, Lucy (Lucy and Ricky - get it?). You can see the two of them together in one of the photos here.

You can meet Ricky at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Road, anytime during store hours 7 days a week (847-251-6750). Please keep in mind that although you might want to adopt him on the spot, you will need to complete an application first.

Ricky's adoption fee of $115 includes: vet exam, fiv/feLv test (neg), distemper vaccination, rabies vaccination, flea control, routine deworming, microchip and neuter.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ricky, a Mt. Prospect Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Mt. Prospect, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Mt. Prospect.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Mt. Prospect already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Mt. Prospect breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Mt. Prospect paves the way for another one to be saved.
