Higgins's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

Higgins's Story...

Higgins is a neutered male Mini Poodle, DOB January 30, 2007.

Higgins was rescued from a puppy mill. Most dogs love a belly rub or scratch behind the ears but for Higgins its utterly scary.

He is learning human touch-much like going outside, using stairs or wearing a leash is completely new and very scary to him.

In his foster home Higgins is already discovering the joys of running and playing in a yard with other dogs, how wonderful it feels to be petted and embraced, he wants so much to be social with people, it will take time for Higgins to learn to trust and recover from the years of neglect.

Higgins is a loving happy boy, he needs someone that can be patient with him, who is willing to help him learn all the things he has been deprived of. Another small breed dog in the home would be best in addition to a fenced yard. No children under 10 yrs.

Higgins will be available for adoption this Saturday at Petsmart in Brighton. Adoption hours are noon to 4 pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Higgins, a Howell Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Howell, or seeking a Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Howell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Howell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Howell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Howell paves the way for another one to be saved.
