My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hemingway is a very handsome, polydactyl cat (25 toes!) who is 4 years old and misses his mom. She got a promotion and a raise in Los Angeles and is trying to start life over on the west coast. This means that she is between apartments and unsure if Hemingway will be able to join her and if he can, when that will be. She has had Hemingway since he was 9 months old, and he is the most loyal cat that she has ever had. A true cuddlebug once he was ready.

That said, in his mom's absence and with an apartment full of strangers, Hemingway is very unhappy. He is hissing and whining constantly at the sublettor and needs a vet visit to make sure that he is not in pain. His mom has some money to spend on the vet and a cat rescuer willing to help get him into his carrier and to the doc. After leaving the vet, though, it would be best if Hemingway went to a foster home or even a permanent home if someone would be willing to love him long-term.

Hemingway comes with his carrier, food, toys, kitty shampoo, and whatever else a potential foster home might need for a cat. Mom also has a small kitty stipend to help pay for Hemingway's care as she tries to find a good solution for him out west. Hemingway is not a big fan of other pets and would best adapt to a home with an animal lover without other animals. That said, though, his current home situation is really not good for him or the sublettor, so any cat lover who is willing to take on a very stressed out cat would be much appreciated. If Hemingway can feel safe again with someone he trusts, then he would be a very rewarding foster or permanent home. He is very silly when he's happy and a very chill guy once he's comfortable.
