Nora-Prison Dog's Story...
Nora has been selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. This Prison Dog will be trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and leash training. Nora will remain at the prison between 8-12 weeks. Once she returns, she will be a proud trained Prison Graduate. Nora left for training at the end of April.

If you are interested in adopting Nora, adoption applications are now being accepted. They can be downloaded at but must be hand delivered to Friendship. If you have any questions please call the shelter at 440-322-4321. A limited amount of adoption apps are taken on each Prison Dog.

Nora is an active and energetic 1.5 year-old Shepherd/Cattledog mix female with a very pretty face. She was homeless at a rural county dog pound where few dogs make it out alive when she came to Canine Lifeline and now Friendship to have a chance at a happy life. Nora was very shy and skittish at first but has grown more comfortable and confident over the last few months and is now eager to find a new family to love. She is still nervous in new situations so a home with a mature family would be best. Nora loves playing with other dogs so might enjoy a home with another canine companion or two. She's been practicing walking on a leash recently and doing well. Nora is crate-trained and house trained too. She weighs about 40 pounds. Stop by for a visit. Nora would love to see you. Once she returns from her training.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nora-Prison Dog, a Elyria Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
