This is Foxey. She is a 2-3 year old female, tri-colored beagle.
When Foxey came to our foster home she was a bit skittish, but she has really come into her own and blossomed into a great little girl. Foxey seemed to be house trained when she came to us, and only had an accident or two when she first arrived. Now that she is more familiar with our house, she goes in and out of the dog door like a pro, and no more accidents! She eats very well and could still use to put on a few extra pounds as she was a little underweight when she arrived.
Foxey is extremely observant and always interested in what's going on inside and outside of the house. She will spend long periods of time watching out our windows and will follow us around the house to make sure she doesn't miss out on anything. She gets along well with her foster brother and sister, and they enjoy running around the backyard and chasing after squirrels. Foxey also likes to cuddle on the couch at the end of the day and inevitably will fall asleep in your lap.
Initially Foxey was crated when we left the house and slept in the crate at night. She wasn't a huge fan of getting in the crate, and would bark and cry for about 10 minutes. Eventually though she would settle down. Foxey now has freedom in the laundry room area when we are gone, and sleeps upstairs in the bedroom all night with her foster siblings. She also has the run of the house when we are home and we haven't had any issues.
She doesn't bark at other dogs and listens well to simple commands and comes when her name is called. Because of her love for the outdoors, Foxey would do best in a home that has a yard that she can access and spend time in – maybe even with a dog house of her own. She also likes to be around people and other dogs and initially has some anxiety when left alone, so she would be a great addition to a house with another dog to keep her company and be her playmate.
Foxey has been a very easy and delightful foster dog and has just gotten more comfortable and confident every day she has been with us. We have no doubt that Foxey will adjust well to her new home and be a great addition to any kind of family!
