My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barkley is a 2-year old precious petite dachshund/beagle/staffie mix. He weighs about 35 pounds (full-grown) and is a quiet and SUPER MELLOW dog! He is LOW MAINTENANCE! He would be perfect for a quiet home or for someone that wants a young dog but doesn't want all the high activity that goes with it! Here are some of his good points:
• Short hair -- NO SHEDDING!
• Housetrained - knows the doggie door
• Does not bark, very quiet
• NOT HIGH ENERGY
• Doesn't bother strangers when they come over (you don't need to pull him away from the door when the mailman comes or the UPS man
drops off a package. Nor does he bother visitors.)
• Does not jump up on people
• Good with other dogs
• He has not been around cats, but would probably be great with cats because of his mellow demeanor
• Not destructive (NO CRATING NECESSARY!)
• Does not dig holes in the yard
• Great on a leash -- no pulling!
• Rides well in a car
• Will be by your side - without pestering you!

Barkley came to me from a High Kill Shelter in Northern Arizona. He is neutered and fully vaccinated (recent rabies, distemper-parvo, and bordatella), micro-chipped, mint white teeth, and in excellent health. Barkley is a little shy at first but warms up in just a few hours.
