TYLER's Story...
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

THIS IS TYLER....and what a difference a little bit of hair and a lot of love can do for a very special boy. Tyler is a 5 yr old, tan/black/tri colored, 15 lb, Lhasa Apso, who came into the shelter with his right eye in an awful way. The shelter removed the eye and even with one eye, Tyler was a love. When we got him home, we thought his other eye looked pretty bad, and so we have been treating it with special drops, and it has definitely helped. That being said, we don't think he has much sight in it -- it likely is glaucoma and may yet need to be removed (which LHH would take care of) -- still he doesn't seem to be in pain. This dog is a lover. He doesn’t go down stairs very well, so please on walks, guide him and find ramps for him so he doesn’t step off a curb and hurt himself because he can’t see where he’s going. He goes upstairs just fine and stays very close to the steps as he goes up. Once he is used to the layout of your home, he can navigate it pretty well. He is like a noodle in your arms, he loves attention and could go into any home -- with or without other dogs. He would love to be your one and only and get all the attention, as he doesn't really interact with the others much...but he's very easy either way. He's learning the potty thing....just needs to be on a schedule and you won't have any accidents...and if you do, that's what the "Belly Band" is for. Tyler is a special boy...and will be a wonderful companion. A slight handicap should never be a death sentence...and as long as Tyler needs a place to stay, he is safe at LHH....but he would really like to go home with YOU!

Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID tag!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TYLER, a Los Angeles Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Lhasa Apso for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
