Chance's Story...
This is Chance, he is about 3 years old, incredibly sweet and loves attention.
He got his name because he was rescued just in time; he was scheduled to be euthanized because the shelter thought he had been hit by a car and knew he had a fracture in his leg. He was given a second chance in life.
He was taken to UC Davis, and they placed a plate in his leg and repaired his fractured hip as well. While he was there they noted that he has a cataract in one eye and is partially blind in it.
With the surgery now a month behind him, he is a ball of fire! He still holds the leg up only because he can go faster when he runs, he can jump onto and off of the couch now, he loves walks, other small dogs, cats and children.
Would you give him another chance? He would make a great companion and family pet.
You can meet this wonderful little boy at the Natomas Marketplace Petsmart on the weekends from Noon to 3pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chance, a Sacramento Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
