Merle's Story...
Looking for the perfect dog? Meet Merle! Now we know there is no such thing as perfection...but Merle comes pretty close to it..Pick Your Paw pulled him from a local NJ shelter where he had been brought in as a stray. We don't know Merle's history before he came to be a stray in an overcrowded shelter but we do know he was someone's dog. He is housebroken, sweet, calm, well mannered and loves to snuggle with his foster dad. He walks like a dream next to his foster mom's baby stroller on a simple buckle collar. He even enjoys rides in the car and takes a nap! Merle is the perfect family companion! He is about 3 years old, neutered, micro chipped and fully vaccinated. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merle, a Shrewsbury American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Shrewsbury, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Shrewsbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shrewsbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shrewsbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shrewsbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
