Stella's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, and up to date with shots.

Stella's Story...
Stella is 1 1/2 to 2 years old and weighs 62 lbs. We think that she is a retriever mix. She is spayed and is current on her vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and de-wormed.

Stella is a well behaved dog, who would be perfect in a one dog family, with no cats. (likes to chase moving objects) She could be introduced to cats and dogs at a later time. She is currently living with a small dog and a cat in her foster home. She is house broken, and sleeps in her crate. She does not get on furniture or the bed. It appears that someone has taken the time to train her, but then left her on the side of the road. She does have some separation anxiety.
Stella knows:
Sit, Down, Stop, Go Potty, comes when called, In - for her crate. She walks well on a leash, if she goes too fast, "walk" slows her down. She sits before going outside, after coming back in, while making her food. Stella lays next to you while watching TV. She does not bark often. Stella is very loyal.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stella, a Hagerstown Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
