Daisy's Story...
My name is Miss Daisy, and man, oh man am I ever glad to get out of the shelter? What was the crime that landed me there? It was a really cold scary night, and I was lost, and I scratched on someone’s door to let me in…they called the pound instead, but that is ok by me! I ended up with a great foster mommy who I love very much, and I have been rescued by Friends of The Animals Baton Rouge! I will never go back to the shelter, and I will hopefully find my forever family very soon!
My transition was not the easiest in the world, when my foster mommy picked me up I had a very bad cold, but thankfully Friends got me all the right medication and I am good as new! Not only am I ok, but I am thriving!

I have done great at my foster home, I am almost all the way house trained…I have learned to go to the door when I want to go INSIDE and have almost learned how to go to the door when I want to go OUTSIDE. I also already know how to SIT and very close to knowing STAY.

I am a little bit shy…when you first raise your hand I am a little scared at first, I drop to my belly and am very submissive….until I realize you are just wanting to pet me or play with me! Then I am soooooo happy! I love play time, I am still a puppy after all! I also love cuddles.

I need a family who will love me to the fullest, and have a gentle, patient, loving hand. My complex terrier mix gives me a lovely personality. I get along with everyone, people…young and old, other dogs, and even my foster mommy’s CATS. Go me! Hopefully I will get to meet you very soon, and you are the forever family I have been waiting my whole life to meet.

To learn more about me, and maybe schedule a meet and greet, contact my foster mommy at kthom53@tigers.lsu.edu

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit http://www.friendsoftheanimalsbr.org/.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a Baton Rouge Fox Terrier (Smooth)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Fox Terrier (Smooth)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Fox Terrier (Smooth)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Fox Terrier (Smooth)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Fox Terrier (Smooth)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
