My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Coco. After 11 years, I was surrendered to a high kill shelter with my sister Gigi when one of our owners died and the other felt she could no longer care for us. I don’t know why because Gigi and I don’t ask for much. All we need is food, short walks and nice soft beds to nap all day long on. I’m a love bug and I love to sit or lie next to you while you pet me for hours. I’m a good watch dog just like I’m supposed to be, I am a Jindo after all. Gigi and I have been living at Rutherford Animal Hospital because Treasured k9s does not have a foster home for us. I’m having fun though. I’ve figured out that if I look cute, people will feed me treats. I think I’ve gained a few pounds. During the day, Gigi and I go to work upstairs in the HR office. We like working. We also follow people to the supply room and supervise while they take inventory. In the afternoons different people come and take us for walks. We’re easy to walk and like to go for slow strolls. At night we go back to our kennel run for a good night’s sleep. My sister and I are a package deal. We are very bonded to each other and I couldn’t imagine life without her. Don’t worry about my age. Jindos live to be at least 16 years old. Please consider giving me and Gigi a home. We would like to be the only dogs in the home and cats may not be safe around us. We would prefer no small children since we are old and startle easily while sleeping. We’re quiet and if you work long hours, we’ll be happy to sleep all day. When you come home, you’ll only have to take us for a quick walk. We’re low maintenance and represent all that is good about Jindos. Thinking about adopting a Jindo? Try us on for size. You’ll see why Jindos are so special. Just like a fine wine, Jindos get better with age. Training? Well we’re 11 years old. We’ve figured life out and are no problem at all. We couldn’t be any easier. Please adopt me and Gigi!
Jindos are a rare breed from Korea and researching the breed is highly recommended. Experience with Akitas, Shiba Inus, Sharpei, Chows, Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds, American Eskimos and a similar Spitz breed is preferred.
Knowledge of the Nothing in Life is Free theory and/or Cesar Millan’s methods are essential for a successful adoption. If you are interested in adopting Coco & Gigi, please visit www.treasuredk9s.org submit an adoption application.
