My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our little lady Sally came to us in December with nine of her canine companions from Virginia. Sally was one of many dogs living in a hoarding situation, and was quite neglected. This chihuahua mix was so shy upon arrival, but it was obvious that she was happy to be in a safe place, with good people to care for her. Sally slowly came out of her shell and warmed up to us little by little. Upon a ro...utine examination, our veterinary noticed a change in Sally's left eye. Sally was taken to an ophthalmologist who ran a series of tests, and determined that Sally had severe glaucoma in her left eye, and was now causing her pain and blindness. Poor Sally needed her eye removed, and she pulled through like a little champ! Sally has made a full recovery and is already back to taking walks and spending time with her friends, and can be seen prancing around, tail wagging and head held high. Sally has adjusted wonderfully to having just one eye, and is obviously quite relieved to be out of pain. She has mild glaucoma in her other eye that will require occasional medication, but her prognosis is very good, and this 4 year old girl has a long, healthy life ahead of her. She is now looking for a wonderful home to call her own. Sally gets along well with other dogs and would love a nice, quiet home where she can spend her days snoozing and relaxing.
