My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Donations Needed & Appreciated: This sweet cocker girl needs to have 2 Mammary Tumors removed and it will cost about $400. Please donate to help with her care so that she can
have her surgery, a good recovery and then be adopted out to a great home.

My name is Darcy. I am a very nice, really sweet, 3 to 5 year old, red n white cocker girl. I was found as a stray in SC and taken to a shelter. I am such a loving, very friendly girl, I got adopted by some people really quick, but I had to be spayed before I could go to my new home. I was sent to get this procedure done and the shelter staff actually found out then that I tested heartworm positive. As it turned out, the folks never came back for me, so the shelter asked for rescue help. Thanks to these nice folks, I have now had my heartworm treatment done, my recovery has gone well and I am ready to find my new home.

I came to rescue with ear infections which got treated and I was on medicine to get me over my kennel cough. CCR then raised the money to get my dental work done and my heartworm treatment too, and I have done very well with my recovery. On my initial visit, the vet learned that I have juvenile cataracts in both eyes and this means that I will probably eventually go blind in the future without surgery, so he suggested that I see a specialist. After raising the funds, I have now been taken to the eye specialist. He says that my cataracts are very immature and are not fast progressing, so he does not feel that my eyes are advanced enough to need surgery for a couple of years. I am dog friendly, people friendly and a very sweet cocker girl. I will make you smile and laugh a lot, as I am just a real cutie and I love attention. I would love to be your new baby girl and share a great life with you. I will do best in a home with no other female dogs. I can be with a male dog as long as he is lay back and not the dominant type. I cannot be placed into an apartment or condo type living situation as I have a loud bark and it might disturb the neighbors . If you would just love to have a wonderful new best friend, someone to love and a great new house companion, adopt me . . . . I have so much love to give, if you just give me a chance. Maybe I could be the new best friend that you would enjoy spending quality time with. I do need to have my mammary surgery done before I can be placed
into a forever home. I hope that you will be willing to wait for me if you are interested in giving me
my new forever loving home.

If you are interested in adopting this sweet, wonderful cocker girl, please email: larrydonnacarp@aol.com for an adoption application. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes
all the vetting and medical needs for the dog.
