My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ziggy - a 4-6 month old male basset hound mix pup. We have no idea what Ziggy is mixed with, but we feel he'll grow to be a medium (25-60 lbs) dog.

Ziggy came to us from a high intake, high kill shelter in Oklahoma with his brother Reese and sister Skittles. These pups are at least 4 months old. That means for the first 4 months of their precious lives, they haven't known what it feels like to be part of a family and really loved on. They went from a shelter to a foster in Oklahoma to a foster home in Mokena. Foster families are great for giving lots of love and spoiling, but we're not a forever family. Ziggy NEEDS his own forever family. He needs to know love, warmth, and belonging to someone who wants to spoil and love him to death.

Ziggy is best known for his love of snuggling. He's even been called, "one of the most adorable lap warmers" EVER. If there is a person on the couch, Ziggy is never far away. He loves, loves people. You don't need the sun to shine to have a shadow with Ziggy around. He also gets along great with other dogs and is very curious about those other furry things called kitties. The resident kitty doesn't run away, but she's yet to come down to Ziggy's low to the floor level either so they've mostly just had many stare offs while Ziggy's tail wags like crazy. Ziggy's mellow attitude and snuggly self makes him a perfect pet for a family with little children. His foster family has 3 children, ages 3-10 and even the 3 yr. old is good in Ziggy's book.

Who couldn't love a pup named Ziggy!?! He's appropriately named because everyone who meets him, loves him. I don't think this boy will last long. He's super cute, super playful, and super loving. What is not to love about this sweet pup?

Ziggy is currently being treated for demodex mange, which is not contagious. He takes a little liquid medication once a day for 30 days, which we provide, then he is retested at our expense if take to one of our participating vets.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BREED, AGE, AND SIZE AT MATURITY ARE ONLY GUESSES!
