Helen's Story...
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

This sweet girl is an 8ish year old Siamese/Torti mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after a wonderful young man rescued her from some teens who thought it was funny to play “tackle the cat” while she wandered lost in a park in Meridian, ID. The young man took her home and looked for her home for a week and then called us for help.

Now named Helen (after Helen Keller) this adorable girl is moving on with her life. The wonderful vets over at Broadway Vet have given her a clean bill of health and believe she is what is called a “Baytril Cat”. Baytril is a type of antibiotic for cats that cause instant blindness; we are guessing she has been this way for quite a long time. Other than gently bumping into things sometimes she gets along GREAT; once she learns the layout of a room you’d have a hard time guessing that she was blind.

Helen is very sweet and cuddly; her favorite thing is to be held and loved on. She likes to head butt you for attention and when she is really happy she sticks out her tongue - it’s adorable. She would love to live with someone that has a lot of time to spend with her; someone who she can follow around and cuddle with.

She doesn’t seem to mind other animals as long as they don’t mind her. Because she is blind she would have to go to a home with no other animals or with animals that are well known to be friendly with cats since she can’t see to protect herself from a threat.

Helen prefers a calm environment; too much activity stresses her out a bit so no kids please. Helen would be the perfect pet for a senior! She would probably also do very, very well with someone who lives in an apartment or condo as there is less square feet for her to learn.

Helen is spayed, vaccinated and will be microchipped upon adoption

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Helen, a Boise Siamese cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siamese for sale in Boise, or seeking a Siamese cat from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siamese breeders who help with Siamese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
