Alex's Story...
When we are asked about a rescue that is very fun-loving, we immediately come up with Alex. His smile is shining...and maybe just a bit mischievous. This curious and really, really smart 1.5 - 2 year old, 15 lb Doxy mix is a truly great companion. Even though he's up for pretty much any activity, he's never pushy or yappy. Exercise is important to this guy to keep him happy and well-behaved... it's not that he requires extensive amounts, just enough to keep him healthy and stimulated. Since Alex loves kids and other dogs, an active game of ball in the yard or a hike with his family would be just right for this social guy. He derives so much joy from his interaction with others, we would love to see him in an active family that just loves him dearly...he's a great pup who deserves this in his life. This adorable and humorous Doxy/Poodle mix doesn't seem to shed...but if is barely noticeable. Alex will require periodic baths and brushing to keep his gorgeous coat soft and matt-free.

Alex will be transported to Denver from Oklahoma in late April. Applications are currently being accepted for this fun and devoted companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alex, a Boulder Dachshund/Poodle (Miniature) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Poodle (Miniature) for sale in Boulder, or seeking a Dachshund/Poodle (Miniature) dog from a breeder in Boulder.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boulder already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boulder breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Poodle (Miniature) breeders who help with Dachshund/Poodle (Miniature) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boulder paves the way for another one to be saved.
