Facts about Precious

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 5571154-Cow-C-Precious
  • Hair: Short

This little sweetie is Precious, a Tortie with a beautiful split face. Precious is just what her name suggests - loving, affectionate and people oriented. She seems very delicate because she's tiny at under 6lbs, but she's actually very curious, brave and playful.

Precious was rescued along with her kittens from under a ramp at a dentists office. She was very skinny, but loyally protecting her babies. All of the kittens have found good homes and now it's mommy's turn.

Precious is very affectionate, but doesn't like to be held, that's probably because she doesn't like heights. She is definitely a bush cat vs a tree cat.  She's a very good girl with her biggest annoyance being her tendency to run out the door, often between your feet. As a DARS cat, she must remain indoors, but she really would be happiest as an indoor/outdoor cat. A kitty door would make her very happy. She doesn't stay out long, nor go far from home, but she definitely wants to be able to go outside some.

Born around August 2012, Precious has been spayed, vaccinated and as with all of our cats, is FIV and FeLV negative.

If you would like more information about this little darling, please call 662-342-9448, email info@desotoanimalrescue.org or submit a pre-adoption application here: http://desotoanimalrescue.org/cat-adoption-application.html and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Our adoption fee is $75 for cats and kittens.

About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We've made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here: info@desotoanimalrescue.org

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
