I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with kids.
Dakota needs a new permanent home! Dakota is a wonderful family dog, he is neutered, current on vaccinations, potty trained, and is crate trained too... He loves treats, playing fetch with a ball, and loves swimming! We rescued Dakota from Tri Valley Animal Rescue in June 2005. He is about 60lbs and we think he is about 10 or 11 years old. Current on vaccinations. We believe he is a Pointer/Spaniel mix. His markings look a lot like a Springer Spaniel. He is super lovable and affectionate and loves being an inside dog (sometimes he thinks he is a lap dog). He is a needy dog- he wants/needs lots of love and attention and he's great with our kids (4, 6, and 15 yrs old).
He sits and lays down on command, and understands "bed" and "crate". Dakota suffers from leash aggression, which has required us to muzzle him while taking him for a walk. I'm sure with dedicated time and attention this is something that can be trained out of his behavior. Unfortunately Dakota has not received the attention he deserves for the last couple of years. He needs a home where he can get the exercise and attention he needs! He is pretty well behaved off leash at dog parks. It's up in the air as to how he would be in a home with another dog...we tried to bring one into his domain and it wasn't a good fit. It might work better with him going into another dogs domain. He does not do well with cats.
