Norman's Story...
Norman is a sweet little guy who was recently released from a research facility. When he looks at you with his deep brown eyes, you can't help but love him and want to tell him that "life is good, Norm!" Making his way in the world today takes everything he's got. Taking a break from all his worries sure would help a lot. Norm is looking for someone who will understand that life is brand new for him, and that it will take him a little time to learn about everything in his great big world (loud noises, TVs, stairs, etc.) Because he is a bit on the shyer side, he would do best in a home without young children - the wee ones may be a touch more excitement than he bargained for just yet!

Norman is crate trained and working on his housebreaking. He gets along great with cats, and would make a wonderful companion to another dog. Norm just wants to go where everybody knows his name, and they're always glad he came! :)

If you're interested in adopting Norman and showing him the good life, please first read about our adoption process. Then, complete an adoption application found at www.happypawsrescue.org under the ‘Adopt’ tab, and email it to happypawsrescue@gmail.com. Norman will be at our adoption day events on Saturdays from 12-4pm at the Piscataway, NJ Petco. Thank you for your interest in adopting!

(You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets – they’re small, relatively easy to handle, and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have healthy beagles that they no longer need. That’s when they release the beagles to us. We provide foster homes, veterinary care, socialization, and eventually, forever homes for these sweet dogs. It gives us and you a chance to give back to the beagles that have sacrificed for the advancement of science. Please email us if you’re ready to be a giant hero in the eyes of a little dog!)

  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Plainfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Plainfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
