My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Why is it that the best dogs often end up in the worst circumstances? Meet Muppet!

As comical and sweet as his name, this two year old Corgi mix has stolen the heart of every person who has had the pleasure of meeting him! Always smiling, Muppet greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and immediately rolls over for belly rubs. It is hard to believe that a dog this happy and trusting of humans was dumped in the county shelter by his family. And not only was he abandoned by the only family he ever knew and loved, but he was abandoned with a treatable medical condition that his family refused to address.

Poor Muppet was suffering from seizures and was dropped off at the shelter without medical attention; left to seize and suffer alone and scared; an unthinkable fate for any animal. Fortunately this sweet boy immediately caught the attention of a rescuer who moved him from the county shelter and got him the medical attention he so deserved. And from the first dose of a simple, daily, oral medication, we are thrilled to report that Muppet has been seizure-free and is now living a happy, healthy, normal life! He is in a foster home where he gets along famously with all his humans, loves running and playing with his canine foster sibling, and even gets along with the two cats without incident. We have also learned that Muppet is housebroken and sleeps peacefully through the night.

The more we get to know Muppet, the more unbelievable it is that anyone could abandon a dog this amazing, this loving, this well behaved; and even more unbelievable that anyone would allow him to needlessly suffer from a medical condition that has been so very easy to treat. If you are looking for that one in a million dogs that loves life no matter how unfair it may have treated him; a dog that greets every creature he meets with a wagging tail and a smile on his face; and a dog that will give you endless loyalty for providing him with the care and commitment that his family sadly denied him, then come meet Muppet and be prepared to fall in love!
