Oscar's Story...
"Meet Oscar!!! Oscar is a young neutered male Mini Aussie looking for his perfect furr-ever home. He is about 9 months old and a very active boy. A velcro dog at heart, he loves to be next to his person and follow them everywhere. He is housebroken and crate trained. He is learning to socialize with other dogs and is doing very well, seems to leave cats alone, and has some experience with kids but can tend to jump up with them so older children are recommended.

Oscar knows how to walk with a Gentle Leader head collar and is learning not to chase cars. He is being fostered in a house with 4 other dogs and is doing wonderfully and really enjoys having playmates to wrestle with. Oscar is a very active boy who needs lots of exercise and mental challenges or he comes up with his own games of course! An owner with active herding breed experience (think border collie) is highly recommended. Please call/text his foster mom to meet this wonderful guy, 208.305.4704, he is located in Chewelah."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oscar, a Colville Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Colville, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Colville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colville paves the way for another one to be saved.
