Oreo's Story...
Oreo is a handsome 5 year old shih tzu. He was surrendered by his owners because they couldn't keep him anymore. He can be a little scared of new people at first, but it doesn't take long for him to warm up and make friends. His previous owners said he is good with dogs and kids. He is also housebroken, up to date on shots, neutered, and has a microchip. Now all this little guy needs is a home of his own and a family to love! Do you think you have room in your house and heart for a little guy like Oreo? The shelter is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, and Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, come visit him!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Oreo, a Youngwood Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
