Jack Shy Maine Coon Lover's Info...
Rescue Group: Brooklyn Animal Action
|Breed:||Maine Coon||Color:||Orange Or Red||Age:||Young|
Jack is a gorgeous Maine Coon who was quite shy when I first rescued him. I originally met him walking my dog. I could tell someone had recently dumped him. He was very upset. Unfortunately it was some months before I could take him in because I didn't have extra space. Every night when I walked my dog he would be waiting for me to feed him. He even sat in the pouring rain, soaking wet, waiting for me. Is it any wonder I fell in love with this guy? When I finally could take him in he was very shy. I didn't realize for some time he needed surgery on his eye, the vet didn't catch it at first either, but once a different vet pointed it out, we did the surgery and he was so much friendlier afterward! He must have been in pain or uncomfortable. As you can see from the video he is very loving. He just needs a little time to get used to you. He will hide at first, and it is best to make sure there is no place he can hide under/behind, and once there isn't he is easy easy and loving! When he can't hide and you go to him and start petting him, he becomes a total love bug. He is wonderful to pet, all that luxurious fur and look how he loves his belly rubbed (see both videos http://youtu.be/vrd4tz1n-Ek and http://youtu.be/nJwAH1ADGtA)!! He is a big fabulous purring machine.
Jack has been neutered, is up-to-date on his shots, tested felv-, fiv+. He adores other kitties, wants to live indoors and eat healthy food.
