Facts about Melina
Breed: American Shorthair
Color: Black & White Or Tuxedo
already spayed, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.
I am already spayed, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.
Melina was born in 2006 and was rescued in the country where she was lucky to find someone who cared for her. When they had to move, they were concerned about Melina and contacted us. Upon arrival it was discovered that Melina has a heart murmur and has hyperthyroid. We have started her on medication and special food to help with the thyroid condition. Her heart murmur will require monitoring the rest of her life. She is a little embarassed right now as we had to give her a "lions cut" to get all the mats out of her fur. She likes to purr and has the longest whiskers we have seen!
Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc is a special needs, no-kill animal shelter that accepts unowned dogs/puppies and cats/kittens that are disabled, injured, neglected, pregnant, nursing and orphans requiring bottle feeding. Along with veterinary care, our army of caring volunteers nurse the animal back to health and when healthy we place the animal up for adoption. Our founding belief is that every animal deserves a loving home and should not be killed simply because they have been at the shelter too long. We are a 501 (c)3 charitable organization and rely solely on donations. We receive no government funding.
