About Oconee Animal Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a non-profit organization engaging in the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of abused and abandoned animals in high kill shelters and the surrounding community. We provide education to the community about animal welfare and in spay and neuter programs in South Carolina.

We volunteer at our local humane society helping with their spay and neuter program, walking dogs, and setting up adoption events. We remove dogs from the shelter that are in danger of being euthanized or are not showing well. We also help others who have found a stray or cannot care for a pet. In our foster care we concentrate on rehabilitaiton. We want our pets to be ready to move right into their forever homes when the time is right.

Our Adoption Process...

There is no such thing as a perfect home or a perfect pet but there is a perfect match. We like to get to know our interested adopters so we can help them find their perfect match. We have an adoption application which must be filled out then we interview our adopters to see if the pet they are interested in will fit into their lives as a permanent member of the family. We check vet references and sometimes conduct a home interview. We don't want our pet parents to make a good choice we want them to make a GREAT choice.
