Cody's Story...
Cody is an adorable and fun-loving cuddly orange boy! He is sweet and outgoing and like every little kitten boy, he loves to play. Cody would do fabulous in a home with another young and active kitty that he can romp and wrestle with and just have a good ole time being a kitten.

Cody was born around May of 2012. He was rescued by 4Paws from a high kill shelter after ending up there as a stray. No telling who could have let such a darling little kitten slip away from them.

He has great litter box manners and is gentle with people, so he should be fine in a home with children. Cody does not have experience around dogs, but is expected to be fine around a gentle and mellow dog, if introduced slowly.

He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and has tested negative for FIV & feline leukemia.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cody, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
