Handsome Rusty was rescued 2/26/2012 from a crowded shelter (Alameda). He was there for a long time and a shelter favorite! He is very friendly and eager to learn playful and ready to please. Rusty gets along with other dogs he knows and polite. He is great with his current foster home with other dogs and male/female guardians. He loves his walks. He needs routine and quiet stable home. Curious smart and sweet with his foster parents. He has a solid good nature personality when comforable but is fearful/shy of loud noise and new changes/people. He will need exercise long walks and someone who will provide him love quiet routine and guidance for life. Rusty is a sweetheart once he settles and needs quiet routine household. Adult home only. He is scared of kids. Update from foster home: They say diamonds are a girl's best friend but we think RUSTY might be better! He is a sweet smart fellow who is looking for a special lady to love him. He likes long walks on the beach car rides and good belly rub. He is very shy not fond of cats and hates crowded places but once you gain his trust you will have it for life. Rusty is moderate active guy who loves to play is always up for a game of ball or fetch and would make a great hiking or running partner. If you think you might have room in your heart and your home for Rusty please don't hesitate to meet him.

Come see us at one of our Pet Showcases. Our locations and schedule can be found on our showcase locations page.
We are very thorough in our adoption process. The details and costs can be found on our How to Adopt page. We expect the whole family to be involved in the process.
We believe our dogs and cats should be treated as family members for their entire lives. They deserve the best we can give them, and that we should never give up on them.
