Ruff Ruff! My name is Savannah
|Breed:||American Pit Bull Terrier Mix||Color:||Gray/Silver/Salt & Pepper - With White||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)||Sex:||Female||ID#:||5588470|
I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, not good with dogs, and good with cats.
Savannah was rescued from a neighbor who had bred her repeatedly until some puppies in her last litter died almost immediately. Her owners blamed her, and, since she could no longer produce puppies as she had before, she was no longer of any value to them. And so they chained her outside and stopped feeding her. Yes, stopped feeding her, starved her. When rescued, she was emaciated and covered with sores. Her tail, however, was still in fine shape because she never stopped wagging it. (See the video!)
Savannah is now a healthy 5 year old female Pit Bull mix, and because of her breed mix, I know she'll be hard to place, so it's very important that you know about the real kind of dog she is. She weighs 52 lbs. now, and each one is filled with love and gentleness. Her foster says she is energetic but mostly loves to cuddle. (Take a look at her pictures. She definitely loves to snuggle!) She is wonderful with kids , but probably not small kids. You see, like many large dogs, she doesn't always know her own strength and she could knock over a small child or play a bit too rough. She needs to be the only dog in the house, but she gets along well with cats!
Savannah is crate trained and house broken. Her short coat is a beautiful gray and white, and her eyes are soulful. They're deep; they're hopeful. (posted 4/21/13, MK, N/A)(new pics and info 6/2/13)

Crossing Paths is a small group of all volunteer men, women and families who work tirelessly to give these animals a chance to live.
We foster them and care for them until we can find a home for them, and with the aid of our satellite group in Yardley, PA, we bring the face of the southern dog to a larger area of the country. Please do not see our location as a problem as we transport our dogs to you!
Thank you so much taking that leap of faith in adopting a southern dog.
If you are near the Blount County, Alabama area and want to come meet our pets, please email us and make arrangements to meet these wonderful animals.
