  • DNA TESTED! Beech's DNA test revealed that he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, St. Bernard, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Boxer, and Unknown Terrier (probably Jack Russell) mix. He exhibits many traits of the Jack Russell Terrier and the Boxer. Both breeds use their paws in a cat-like manner, as Beechnut does. Very cute to watch. :)

DISTINGUISHING TRAITS...

Beechnut adores children. He will cuddle with them and watch over them, and he doeesn't mind if they share their snacks with him. :)

HOME/FAMILY LOOKING FOR...

Beechnut's ideal adopter is any family looking for a loyal, cuddly couch buddy and playmate. His former home was with 3 very young children who he was great with. He lost his home recently due to divorce. Beech is the type of dog that a child who grew up with him would never forget. Your son or daughter will be telling their kids one day about the dream dog they had growing up! He would also make a great playmate for another dog or two. He just isn't friendly with cats or stranger dogs when he is on a leash.

Beech is super housetrained - he would rather explode than soil the house! He makes a great watch dog and will alert you to any strange activity going on outside the house. He enjoys playing with stuffed animals and basking outdoors in the sunshine. A fenced yard is required for Beech.

If you think Beech could be The One for you, contact us today. This write-up describes his IDEAL home, but please contact us if you are interested, even if that doesn't describe you. It is impossible to fully describe a pet in a brief write-up, so a conversation is best!

BONUS: One 6-week Basic Obedience Plus class with Woof University sponsored by CARE is provided with the adoption of this dog. Attendence is required within 4 months of adoption.

A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. We do adopt out of state if all vetting is complete. The most accurate and complete information about available dogs can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.

About Cullen's Archangel RescuE

About Our Rescue Group...

WHY RESCUE?

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter…the cast-offs of human society.

I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.

And I was angry.

“God,” I said, “this is terrible! Why don’t you do something?”

God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly.

“I have done something," He replied. “I created you.”

ABOUT US…

CullensArchangelRescuE.org was started in 2003 for the protection and rescue of animals in need. Our mission is to educate the community, help animals in need, decrease the amount of strays in our community, and provide shelter for animals that are in need of adoption.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do not currently have a shelter for the animals. We foster the animals in our own homes. We will be happy to show them to you by appointment. Please call or email to arrange. Our foster homes are in and around Columbia, SC (mainly). Out of state adoptions are ok, but same adoption procedures apply.

Our Adoption Process...

We adopt out of state at the adopter's expense. Please inquire about the process if you are out of state.

We require potential adopters to fill out an adoption application. Once we receive the application back we will check references (to be included in the application), a home visit will then be set up to see if the animal fits the family and the family fits the animal.

If the potential adopter is approved and all vet care has been finished on the pet, a non-refundable adoption fee is due via check, cash or Paypal.

We will check back on you and your new pet in a few days, 1 month and at 3 months (if there is a need, to make sure the adjustment period is a success). Should the adoption not work out, we will always take the animal back as quick as we can. It is required they are ONLY returned to us. Our screening process is geared to hopefully avoid unecessary returns. Please keep this in mind when adopting - it is intended to be a LONG TERM COMMITMENT.

Please ask the foster parent what the adoption fee is as some vary.

All animals come with the following (what the fee includes):

Vet exam, vaccines, deworming, heartworm test (dogs) or FELV/FIV test (cats/kittens), and spay or neuter.
