Layla's Story...
Layla is a sweet shepherd mix; she is about 2 years old, very friendly and submissive, easy to handle and a good size for a lot of situations; she is not too big for an apartment, and weighs about 45 lbs..I nice size for folks that like shepherds but dont want a large pure bred dog.Layla was diagnosed with erlichia (a tick borne disease similar to lyme), but shows no clinical signs and has been treated with doxycycline. Erlichia is not contagious and we do not expect Layla to have any complications from it. She is in a foster home and we are continuing to learn more about her. She doesnt seem to know what a toy is and may have never had any. She is very social and likes to say "hello" to everyone. She loves human affection and attention.
Layla is being fostered in Knoxville TN.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Layla, a Chattanooga Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
