My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Elsie. I am so thankful you are reading my bio, because I want out of here and I want to go home with you! I am a sweet, kind-hearted girl who doesn't belong here. Ok sure, no cat belongs in a shelter. But some can handle it better than others. I am a quiet, loving, gentle cat, and I find this place very intimidating. Look into my eyes. Surely you can see the sadness--and the hope--that is behind them. In fact, some volunteers say my eyes are irresistible. I hope you think so too.

So what's my story? My sister, Katcha, and I were brought to MaxFund when our people had to go to a nursing home. That was a very sad day for us. We originally came from Grand Junction, and our people had us from the time we were weaned from our mama cat. All we've ever known was the love of our people. We were brought to MaxFund since they could no longer care for us and thought this would be best. I must admit it has been hard for us here. We both are scared and confused. In a short time, we both lost weight rapidly because we were so depressed and frightened. Thankfully, we are ok now though and we are hopeful that a nice person will come along and get mesmerized.

I enjoy pets and know that in a home I will thrive. I'm a little shy so would probably prefer a quiet home. Our people hoped we could be adopted together and obviously we would prefer that. After all, we've been together since birth. But the shelter will separate us if they have to, because they wouldn't want to see either of us miss our chance at adoption. If you are desirous of two, please keep us in mind. Otherwise, please come rescue me so we can enjoy sunshine and love together. Perhaps you enjoy reading, and I could sit nearby as you read on the couch. Or we could watch TV together. No matter -- I just need love, food, water and a safe place to call my own. I look forward to meeting you. If I act apathetic or shy, just know that's because I am scared. But remember that I am gentle, loving and enjoy petting.
