Abby's Story...
Introducing the gentle and petite Abby! Abby is just a little girl, still only 6-12 months old and weighing 41 lbs. She's even smaller in person than she appears in her photos. She's not feeling great and is probably overwhelmed in her kennel at the shelter but once you get her outside, she is a happy little girl who loves to sit by your side and just cuddle. She walks great on a leash and will wait for your direction. She's also very intelligent (which you can see just by looking into her gentle brown eyes) and she already knows the commands "sit" and "stay" and she takes treats very gently. She likes to climb the agility ramp in the play yard and also seems to really like playing in the tunnel. She's been introduced to a few other dogs at the shelter and was was social with the friendly ones and seemed interested in playing with them. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better....Abby also seems to be housetrained! She does her business as soon as she gets outside and tries to hold it in as long as she can in her kennel. In any case, she seems to be easy to train and very willing to learn new things (and she loves hotdogs). Abby would love to be back in a home with people who care about her and she would make a great addition to any family.

Act quickly to adopt Abby. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Philadelphia Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
