Lexi is a female Shih Tzu only 1 1/2 years of age. She has a small, compact little body weighing only 12 pounds. Lexi's fur is orange and white gorgeous waves and she is very soft to pet. She has a darling little tail that curls up over her back and deep chocolate brown eyes. Lexi is a sweet, friendly, mellow little girl. She is truly darling and precious. She is easy to groom, handle, and snuggle with. Lexi loves to be indoors with her people and is a definite pampered pooch. When nothing is happening she can be found curled up in her soft doggie bed watching the world go by. On walks, she has a really nice amount of energy and walks right out in front, exploring and enjoying the outdoors. She is a young dog after all and likes her daily strolls. Lexi is gently affectionate, extremely well behaved and a demure little lady. She is good with other dogs, excellent with cats and good with children. She is very quiet and an absolute joy to have around. You can take her anywhere and she is always the same - quiet and well behaved. Lexi came in to a very high-kill shelter as a stray, neglected and a bit on the skinny side. She did not handle the shelter setting very well and would not eat there. She is definitely a dog that loves creature comforts and does not do well in rougher environments. Lexi is a classy young girl and will make an excellent pet and companion for some lucky person or family. She is very healthy and ready for her forever home today!

Lexi’s adoption donation is $400 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED, MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LEXI, a Newport Beach Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
