Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Buddy, Chicagoland Eskie Rescue's latest Yorkie and Eskie wannabe! ;-) We were working on a wonderful home for him, but in the process we discovered that he really does not enjoy having ESKIES around! Can you imagine, and in an Eskie rescue! LOL! Evidently, white fluffy dogs are not his thing .....or does he wish he was one??? Well, probably not! LOL! After all, Buddy has been a Yorkie for 15 years! Yes, that's right, Buddy is 15 years old, given up by his family, so we stepped in to help this sweet baby boy find a home to retire in! Buddy is 8 lbs and in good health, his check-up went very well AND his blood-work looks good! Buddy has done fine in foster care with another Yorkie, an 8 lb, 4 yr old female ......but he also got to visit with a 4 lb one year old, and that was a bit more than he could handle, she was too much puppy! Buddy LOVES food, enjoys his treats, loves meal time, in fact, he will "sing" for his supper....at about 5pm! He must have an internal clock! Buddy is a great lap dog, enjoys back rubs, but he also loves to wander around his foster home, we call this the "indoor walk"! Buddy will walk on leash nicely too, but only short walks.....a walk around the yard a couple of times and he is done! Or maybe a walk about 3 houses down the street and back! He does not particularly enjoy baths, but is good; it's brushing that he is not too crazy about, but LOVES towel drying and cuddles! He LOVES multiple doggie beds around the house for his napping pleasure! He must mix things up a bit and not get bored with only one bed to nap in! At 15, Buddy has early cataracts, a slight cloudiness, needing no special care at this time, and he is a bit hard of hearing not bad, plus probably has a bit of arthritis too. All very common for a dog his age. We think Buddies best choice for his retirement home will be no other dogs, or perhaps a non-alpha female of similar breed so he can be top dog without issues! We don't want to point out any prejudices, but Buddy prefers other small dogs of darker color! No white fluffy dogs for Buddy! Remember above, he is not too happy about sharing with Eskies! No small children, for he startles easily if someone sneaks up on him from behind or when he is sleeping, and he may snap. We call that "old man grouchiness"! ;-) BTW.....he just had a dental too! :-) He is missing several teeth, but the teeth he has are good....and he will still eat small bite kibble, no problem at all! :-)
Please email CERBuddies@live.com for an application.....this is the "wannabe" side of Chicagoland Eskie Rescue! :-) Also, please share this information and help us find this little guy a new home! Seniors deserve a home too! Thank you for reading all about Buddy! AND thank you for considering adoption! Adoption saves lives!
