My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) Class XIII at WKCC (Western KY Correctional Complex). Seven dogs will train for approximately two months with inmate handlers. In that time, the dogs will be housetrained, crate trained, trained to walk on a loose leash, and able to perform various tricks. They will also be neutered, on flea and tick preventative, on heartworm preventative, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. The cost for adopting a SAFE dog is $150.00. Applications will be taken until May 24, 2013. Applications may be uploaded from SAFE Haven KY website at www.safehavenky.org. Applications then may be either mailed to SAFE Haven KY, P.O. Box 401, Princeton, KY 42445 or sent to safehavenky@gmail.com.
This good-looking, fun-loving, party animal (a two and a half year old Terrier mix) was named after the 70's rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd. It is ironic that one of the band's biggest hits was "Free Bird." Lynyrd is anything but a "free bird" for the next couple of months while he does his time at Western KY Correctional Complex. However, he is loving his two month sentence and won't be doing any hard time at all. On the contrary, he looks back at his shelter days as hard time and seems to think he is on vacation at WKCC.
