What to say about Amanda......we believe that Amanda has basically been to hell and back. She was obviously abused and/or tormented. She is constantly trying to defend herself and protect her 'stuff'. When she calms down, she loves affection but is constantly scared that you will begin tormenting her if she lets her guard down, so she doesn't. Amanda came to us with a bad open wound around her rear end and lashing out in terror. The volunteers just love her and are determined to make sure that she gets the patience and tolerance that she needs why we help her to work through her past. She needs a special person/family (no children) that will continue to help her. We realize that this type of special person may not exist outside of the shelter, but we are hoping, for her sake, we are hoping......

HELP Humane is a non-profit TRUE No Kill animal shelter currently run on individual donations and fundraising alone. (just south of Kansas City). All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians, receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been FeLqV/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting from us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP Humane believes that all life is precious and is therefore, a TRUE No Kill shelter. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home. Come Visit Us! Our hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday, 1pm - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm, Sunday 12pm - 5pm, closed on Monday. 17122 Bel Ray Place Belton, MO 64012 816-318-HELP www.helppets.org Adoption fees vary according to the needs of the animal up for adoption
