My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Iziaha is a very special dog because despite him being a Jack Russel Terrier he doesn't bark or whine like one. He is very calm and only vocalizes when he is excited or wants to go outside. He is very cuddly, happy, and curious around people. A perfect pet for someone who wants a lapdog, playmate and entertainer all in one! Iziaha is a small dog approximately 20 - 25 lbs. He is approximately 4 years old.

Here is what else the foster family had to say:

Iziaha is very sociable and calm when it comes to children. He can be played with and bugged for long periods of time and he seems to enjoy it and want more. We have another permanent dog named Buffy and her and Iziaha get along great and even play together. We have introduced him to our friends cats and he is friendly and curious.

We have left him alone for a couple of hours at a time and he showed no signs of destructive or excessive barking while we were away. He appears to be a confident little dog and is not afraid of anyone or anything except for his crate. Apparently he was left for long periods in his crate by his previous owner however. if we are calm and gentle with him he goes in the crate with no problems. From the time Iziaha has come to stay with us we have not experienced any food stealing, trying to jump up on the counters or chewing of anything besides toys. The only little concern is when he sits and stares at your food when you are eating but if you just say no he will stop "mooching". He knows sit, come here, and when you whistle or click with your mouth he understands and comes running. He had one accident when he first came to us but since that time he has been perfectly house trained. He is very much leash trained and enjoys walks. He doesn't pull you or try to lag behind, he keeps up. He loves to go outside and play so if you are going out the door and don't tell him to stay he will try to come out and play. He rides very well in the car.

Iziaha is a HUGE cuddle buddy. He will sit on your lap or beside you and sleep or watch TV with you. He also loves to chew on toys, look out the window and run around outside. If you get up and walk away he follows you around the house everywhere to see what you are doing. He has only a moderate energy level unlike most JRT's. He appears to be a very low shedder which is nice too. He is very quiet in the home and would be fine for apartment living as long as he got a good walk each day.

Iziaha grows close to your heart and plays very well with other dogs, cats and children. I strongly recommend Iziaha, and hope that he will be a great addition to a family that loves and appreciates him like my family has.

If you think Iziaha would be a good choice for your family, please submit an application for consideration.
