Elmer's Story...
Elmer is a 1 year old shihtzu and all puppy still! He will be available for adoption after May 15, 2013. He is currently taking medication for demodex mange and once he gets the green light for surgery will be neutered. Right now he looks a little funny because he has missing hair, but his hair is starting to grow back and in no time he will all shihtzu cuteness. He is just adorable with the sweetest personality. He would be good with dogs, good with cats and good with kids. He has lots of puppy energy still and loves toys and being mischievous. He does all the cute puppy antics and will make you laugh. He is crate trained, but doesn’t love it. Nevertheless, because he is still a pup, he should be crated when left alone. He is current on all vaccines including rabies and is microchipped. He will not go to his new home until after he is neutered. His adoption fee of $200 will include the neuter. If you are willing to wait until after May 15th for him, then please contact us at stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com or call 503.857.5047 for an application or for more information about Elmer. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elmer, a Sheridan Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Sheridan, or seeking a Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Sheridan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sheridan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sheridan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sheridan paves the way for another one to be saved.
