Joshua's Story...
Marvin-Terrier male, young adult (April 2013)

Marvin came into a high kill rural shelter...his elderly owner could no longer care for her dogs so they
lost their home! Marvin has been a very good boy, all 15# of him! He's gotten along great with the
changes in his life, new friends (human and dogs). He's not appreared interested in the cats. He's
taken to crate training and could be housetrained, we are working on figuring that out.
Marvin is young, we think between 1-2 yr. His adoption fee is $250 to help cover the medical
expenses of getting ready for adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joshua, a Germantown Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
