Frito's Story...
This is Frito, a very snuggly, very little, and very playful chiweenie. Frito is about a year old, so he is probably full grown. He LOVES to snuggle and is absolutely meant to be a lap dog! He has such a sweet face and lots of fun energy when he plays fetch, but settles down nicely when it's snuggle time on the couch. The leash doesn't seem to be a problem, but we are still working on it, along with the potty training. He is quiet in his kennel at night and hasn't had a nighttime accident since we've had him. He is respectful and at ease with the kitties, and he would play with them nicely if they would cooperate, but so far, they just tolerate his presence. We haven't introduced him to our big dogs yet, but only because we are worried about THEIR manners, not his. He hasn't expressed any interest in chewing anything up, but he does like to carry things around (like socks and flip flops), but he has his adult teeth, so he's not in a teething phase. We have big kids in our family, so we know he is okay with pre-teens and teens, boys and girls, as well as grown-ups. He will be an excellent family pet for a family who wants a sweet, snuggly, indoor dog!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Frito, a San Antonio Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
