Pooh Bear's Story...
Pooh Bear was surrendered to us when his owner's house was foreclosed. He is a black and white male Pekingese. His given name is Pooh Bear, but sometimes he likes to be called by his more exotic nick name "Pablo". He has luxurious long hair and weighs about 19 pounds. He enjoys eating milkbones, getting attention, and playing fetch, but only for a few throws please. His short legs get tired. He likes most other dogs and cats, and loves going for car rides. He is not too fond of being alone, especially if he can hear you somewhere but can't get to you. He gets along well with people but is not a good fit for a house with kids. He can be a little moody but just needs some strict rules so he doesn't think he is in charge of the whole household. He had his teeth cleaned in February.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pooh Bear, a Germantown Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
