Leo's Story...
They call me Leo — and I'm a lover boy. I was lost and terrified on the crowded streets of Brooklyn's Chinatown, but despite the hustle and bustle, when a lady knelt and went "pss-pss-pss" at me I cam trotting right over. Now I'm living in her bathroom, because her other cats are way territorial and don't like me.

Just jealous, I guess! Not to brag, but I have unusual tiger markings and a soft white belly — and I love when people rub it. I'm only about 6 months old, and though I'm pretty skinny now, I will fill out a bit when I'm in a loving home. Besides, my most attractive quality is my personality. I'll climb right in your lap and purr, and love to be picked up and cuddled — I even hold hands and give hugs. Of course, I'm playful — still a kitten — but I'm gentle by nature; I don't put my claws out when I play. The rescuer lady says my disposition is "magical" because I have none of that aloofness that some cats have — maybe there's a bit of dog in me!

Anyway, I'm looking for a loving, forever home —yours, I hope! I love everyone, kids, grown-ups, other cats (not sure about dogs, though). I've tested negative for FeLV/FIV, was neutered, got started on my booster shots, have been vaccinated for rabies, and I would really love to meet you soon!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Leo, a Brooklyn American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
