Shayna's Story...
Shayna was found on the base, a nice family picked them up and brought them to us.... and just in time, a few nights later the temperature dropped and we had a very cold night. It would have been hard for Shayna to keep herself and her kitten protected from the elements. Now Shayna is doing very well and is showing us just how grateful she is to have a warm place to sleep and lots of food and treats but it isn't enough, she is longing for a family that will love her everyday and in turn she will show you the affection she has shown us over the past few months. Shayna would be a wonderful addition to any family! When Shayna is adopted she will be spayed. microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and come with many extras. Please come and meet Shayna during adoption hours! ~~~~Shayna has been waiting for a loving home since December 19, 2006. She would be very grateful if someone would give her the home she deserves. ~~~~ Shayna is currently living in a foster home. To meet this gorgeous girl you can call 594-1896 to make an appointment or email shelter@lakelandhumanesociety.org !

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shayna, a Cold Lake Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Cold Lake, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Cold Lake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cold Lake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cold Lake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cold Lake paves the way for another one to be saved.
