Paco's Story...
“Paco” is a petite 5 yr old Chihuahua gentleman who loves to snuggle watching Animal Planet or Housewives of Beverly Hills. He likes toys, walks on a leash and is crate-trained. Though generally quiet & calm, Paco will sound the alarm when someone approaches the door or something requires the “watchdog” position. He is gracious with people, but selfish with other dogs, at least when it comes to food. Luckily, this inveterate people-pleaser takes correction very well and Paco is a fast learner as he aims to win your heart!

Please contact Paco's foster mom, Debbie, at (225) 892-5444 for information about meeting or adopting this canine cutie.

All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. For more information about FOTA or to make a donation, please visit

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Paco, a Baton Rouge Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
