Meow! My name is Cici
|Breed:||Calico||Color:||Calico Or Dilute Calico||Age:||Adult|
I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Cici was surrendered to Safe Harbor because her previous owner never bothered to spay her and she contracted pyometra (an infection of the uterus) which her owner didn't want to pay for the surgery/treatment to fix. Once surrendered, she was treated and nursed back to full health by our caring vets and staff and is now happy and healthy again. Cici is currently being fostered in a foster home because she was so depressed living in the shelter environment. Since going to her foster home she has really opened up into a wonderful, loving kitty, so we know she will do great once she is adopted into her final 'forever home'.
Here is a message from Cici's foster mom:
"This cute little Cici girl is a big time cuddler! She is a low-key, relaxing type of cat who likes to curl up in a tiny ball next to you while your watching TV or reading a book. And, oh boy, does she like to be brushed. Her favorite bristle brush will definitely go with her to her new home. It's hilarious to see her try her hardest to hold the brush herself with her front paws and brush her face.
Also, she will take her favorite toys to her new home. She has little spurts of playing with her puff puff toys by herself but prefers it if you'd play with her using a string toy.
Cici has the silliest meow that always makes me laugh. She opens her mouth really wide and you think there is going to be a loud roar coming but all you hear is a baby kitten-sounding meow. I swear she does that just to crack me up. She is a very quiet cat but will talk back and forth with you if you look at her and say something.
Cici has pretty yellow eyes and a very soft white coat with light gray and tan markings (called a diluted/muted calico). She has never been aggressive and even rolls over so that you can pet her belly. She's a clean cat, sheds very little and has had no accidents. She eats good quality wet and dry cat food and is respectful around human food. She has no problem around normal household noises like blow dryers or washing machines but will run under the bed if someone talks or laughs loudly (more so with people she doesn't know yet). She is an amazing cat and would make a wonderful addition to the right family's home."
If you're interested in adopting Cici, please call our shelter at (561)747-5311 ext. 2 and ask for Linda Dean. Be sure to note that Cici is currently in a foster home.

Help this Shelter by making a donation.
Furry Friends formerly Safe Harbor was founded in 1985 and was the second humane organization in the state of Florida to open a low-cost spay / neuter hospital. With between 7-10 million animals a year being killed in our nation’s shelters, Furry Friend's mission first and foremost has always been to reduce the over population of unwanted pets in our community. We do not believe that euthanasia is the answer to dealing with the pet over population crisis. Our charitable hospital offers low-cost spay / neuter services and medical assistance for everyone and free services for pet owners who are on disability, social security or who are experiencing financial hardships. We have sterilized over 75,000 animals over the past 24 years, preventing hundreds of thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens from being born and thousands more from being needlessly destroyed. Safe Harbor has never turned an animal in need of medical care due to their owner’s inability to pay.
A few years after establishing the charitable hospital, Furry Friends opened one of the only true no-kill shelters in South Florida. The shelter reserves it’s space for animals who have been abused, neglected, injured and abandoned. No breed is discriminated against, any animal in need is given shelter at Furry Friends. We are a charity surviving on donations alone, and our capacity is limited. For the welfare of the resident animals, we cannot exceed our capacity. Cages are not vacated by routine euthanasia. They become available only through adoption.
