Meow! My name is Topsy
I am already spayed, housetrained, and up to date with shots.
DSH, 1 yr old, Black/Cream Torti, Female
I am 'Topsy' and I am a one-year old Black/cream tortoiseshell. I am now ready for someone to come and adopt me. I would like someone really cool to go with my cool personality. I would like someone who is a good conversationalist so we can converse about things going on in our lives. I would like someone devoted to loving me forever as I intend to love forever. I would like someone who can't wait to take care of me--you know food, water, love and attention, because I do love to eat and get attention. If you meet my qualifications--and I bet you do--you can come to the shelter and pick me out.
My fees have been WAIVED, you know, since I am one year old. Just bring in an item or two or more off the shelter's wish list, and I can go home with you.
More information about Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter
We are an animal shelter that cares for approximately 1,000 animals per year. We work with Mahaska County and the City of Oskaloosa, IA to provide animal control services and we also work through the Mahaska Humane Society to educate and promote responsible pet ownership as well as low cost spay/neuter services for low income pet owners.
The public can visit our adoptable pets at the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter any time during normal business hours. We are open to the public Tuesday-Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-4pm.
Potential adopters must complete a pre-adoption application in which questions regarding responsible pet ownership are asked. Once approved the adopter is allowed to adopt and must pay an adoption fee which varies based on the age and species of the animal being adopted. At the time of adoption the adopter must sign an adoption contract. All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
